> Bridge Making Competition
Join us for an exciting and thrilling Bridge-Making Competition, where creativity and engineering skills collide! Participants will have the opportunity to design and build innovative bridges, all while competing for the title of the strongest and most aesthetically stunning structure. Get ready to test your limits, collaborate, and experience the ultimate test of structural genius!
>Rules
Team Composition:
1. Each team should consist of 2–4 participants.
2. Teams must register in advance, providing details of all member.
Bridge Specifications:
1. The bridge must have a minimum span of 30 cm and a maximum height of 15 cm.
2. The width of the bridge should be at least 5 cm to allow space for weight placement during testing.
Materials Provided: Each team will receive the following from the organizer:
1. 100 popsicle sticks
2. Wood glue or white glue.
3. Cutting tools
4. A ruler or tape measure (to check bridge dimensions during construction).
Extra materials:
Teams are not allowed to use additional materials such as string, tape, or fasteners, power tools.
Only the materials provided at the competition may be used.
Construction Rules:
1. Teams can begin construction as soon as they receive their materials.
2. The entire bridge must be constructed within the allotted time.
3. No prefabrication is allowed; teams must build the bridge on-site.
4. Bridges must be constructed to bear loads from a central point.
Testing and Evaluation:
1. Bridges will be tested by placing weights at the center of the bridge.
2. The bridge that holds the maximum weight without breaking will score higher in the load capacity category.
3. Bridges will be judged on a combination of aesthetic design, creativity, structural efficiency, and load-bearing capacity.
Judging Criteria:
1. Aesthetic Design: 10%
2. Creativity: 20%
3. Structural Efficiency: 40% (measured by weight-to-load-bearing ratio)
4. Load Bearing Capacity: 30%
